Daniele De Rossi has been named the new Roma coach

The former player has signed a three-year contract with the club

De Rossi retired from playing in 2020 after a successful career with Roma, Fiorentina and the Italy national team

Daniele De Rossi has been named the new coach of Roma after Jose Mouirinho left the club.

The former player has signed a three-year deal with the club, and will take over from Aurelio Andreazzoli, who had been in charge on an interim basis.

De Rossi, who is 39, is a Roma legend, having made over 600 appearances for the club during two spells. He won the Serie A title with Roma in 2001 and the Coppa Italia twice, in 2007 and 2008.

De Rossi also played for Fiorentina and Boca Juniors before retiring from playing in 2020.

He is now returning to Roma as coach, and will be hoping to lead the club to success both domestically and in Europe.
